Footloose

That’s right. Mikayla is now footloose and fancy free and running all over the place.

Mikayla is 1!

After an exciting 365 days with Mikayla, she has now survived 1 year of Jen and I’s parenting. I think she made it okay. However, I am going to wait to pronounce the final verdict for a while. Maybe 17 more years.

Her birthday was spent with her cousins Ashanti and Lilliana and her Aunt Stacie. A good time was had by all. Be sure to check out her birthday pictures in the gallery!!

Youngest Member of the UNL Yell Squad

Mikayla, thanks to her Uncle Eric, is now the youngest member of the UNL Yell Squad. I mean…she has the uniform and she is good at yelling…so why not.Go Huskers!!

Got Teeth?

Now that she has three teeth soon no food will be safe. She has already started chewing through anything she can get in her mouth. This includes dad’s toes. Talk about a surprise!

A Day Out

Mom, Dad and I spent a terrific day at the Dallas Arboretum which is just by our house. Mom just bought a membership so we can go all the time. I added some pictures of our outing in the gallery, so be sure to check them out.

I think they are kicking me out!

Today Mom and Dad got me a bed. I’m not sure what they expect me to do with it, or what they are trying to tell me. Maybe Dad is going to sleep in my room so Mom and I can have more room at night (he is such a bed hog). I will keep everyone up to date.

Mikayla says, “I like bottles!”

Since mom and dad left me to go attend a wine tasting I decided that they would have to miss a first. Devon, the best babysitter ever, and I worked on taking a bottle. And you know what it wasn’t even that bad. So now I enjoy a bottle whenever I can.

Next, a glass!

4.5 Hours of Silence

The other night a few friends where over and we put Mikayla to bed and then after about 4 hours of hanging out and having adult conversation we realized that Mikayla was still asleep and we hadn’t heard anything from her.

Naturally we where a little concerned since I think the longest she has ever slept before was 2 hours. So we forced everyone to be very quite and we put our ears to the monitor. After a few minutes we did hear a sound. We where able to take a breath of relief and revel in the new found freedom that seems to be just around the corner.
